Lubrelastic Medical Appliances specializes in the production of medical grade custom-made products with maximum softness and smoothness and optimal biological characteristics (atoxicity). The low friction qualities have been tested by the TNO institute and the atoxicity has been investigated using human fibroblast cultures. The medical applications are numerous. The material is used in the treatment of stenosis of the larynx, esophagus, nose, naso-frontal duct, maxillary sinus and all the other structures of the human body which can be treated by prolonged intubation. The products are made from medical grade silicone rubber, and are impregnated with dimethylpolysiloxane oil, thus ensuring a situation of weeping and boundary lubrication between the stent and the human tissue.
